How much
How much do the tickets cost per person?
The Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler does not operate on the section of the Columbia river near Kalama. There are other paddle-powered vessels operated by other companies that may have been in that area.
There is no landing fee as of January 2020.
The Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler Brunch cruise in Cascade Locks for Sunday July 21st begins boarding by 9:30am and departs the dock at 10am, cruising until Noon.
Yes it is when I went there was quite a few kids
Depends on the day, usually there is 4 sightseeing cruises and then a dinner cruise. But that changes depending on the day. Wednesday there is a landmarks of the gorge and then a dinner.S unday there is a brunch, sightseeing, and then dinner.

Yes, in fact there was a person in a wheelchair on board when I was there.
Great crew and a relaxing and beautiful trip.
This place was awesome. There was a nice park around the stern wheeler and some amazing statues. The ride on the stern wheeler was also amazing! It was peaceful and there was good snacks and pretty nice bathrooms.
A great Sunday Brunch when in season it runs from Cascade locks to Bonneville dam and Back about 2 hours.
The Columbia River Gorge scenery is superb and the water is the best vantage point from which to enjoy it. The boat is both nastolgic and full sized, yet not large enough to get lost on. The food is excellent. The staff is fun! It is definitely a memory-maker.
Quite an experience going through the locks. Beautiful along Columbia River. I upgraded,, but i think most would enjoy without the upgrades. Interesting to first hand see how the locks work, Impressive. Food was good, wait staff was acceptable & friendly.
This tour is so insanely beautiful. Absolutely worth every minute.
Great staff, Luke the photographer is awesome! Sara our server was excellent!
this was a beautiful place that cruises the river slowly, you can get a one-hour ticket for it to our ticket. It goes nice and slow and there are three levels with plenty of seating it didn't feel too crowded at all. Well worth it absolutely gorgeous scenery to the sides
Lots of fun checking out the River from the water interesting facts and a great meal served on the boat.. Lots of fun very family-friendly, check it out!
Great Sightseeing Cruise!! You have a choice of going west or east only, or you can go west and east. I have gone both ways before and depending on the way you go there is great views from the river.
My friend booked this, the trip included buffet breakfast and lunch. The breakfast was OK, but the lunch didn't have too much choice, and if you didn't get there first you had to battle to get to the dishes. Staff were lovely very attentive, the boat was clean. Toilets were fine not much space to wash your hands. Overall a great experience.
Love love love the bear battered cod, huge pieces, couldn't eat it all. Great gift shop, also wonderful clean walking paths with beautiful status. I come here whenever Im in the area.
The cruise was a gift, so I can't say that it wasn't my money's worth. First of all, all staff is not friendly, if not dismissive or rude. The entire ship is very outdated and looked dirty inside. The bottom floor was feeling haunted. The hour/2 hour exhibition doesn't show much of the Gorge, just surrounding areas near Cascades Locks. The inside of cafe has a warm set up, but simple, left wanting more. Souvenirs are expensive, as expected, but food wasn't so bad. Overall, I am not impressed. My kids enjoyed the new experience being on the boat.
Wonderful short river cruise. Dinner was excellent - vegetarian options available. Group rate was very reasonable.
What an exceptional experience! Grew up in the area, first time on the Gorge Sternwheeler. What a different perspective to see our spectacular area from our wonderful river! Definitely recommend going.
Sternwheeler ride is spectacular, the Captain is very informative with the history of the area.
Very interesting trip. We took the 2 hour trip . If you like HISTORY and scenery take the 2 hours.
Outstanding value on the Landmarks of the Gorge Trip! Great narration from the Captain about the history of the Gorge and it's landmarks. Recommend to anyone wanting a good time, good food and lasting memories.
A very nice time with dinner cruise.
Affordable sightseeing cruise. Amazing views and great narration as we made out way down the river. It was so fun to watch the wheel turning as well.
Always good food and the captain and staff are really on their game. The trip starts Eastward up the Columbia then turns West and goes under the bridge of the gods and up near the Bonneville dam before heading back to the pier. They photograph everyone boarding, for memorabilia marketing - they try to make it fun. Most is included in the ticket price sans some adult beverages and optional desserts - which I always spring for. You can go up to the wheelhouse and I recommend it, if only for the view.
We did the 1 hour westbound cruise towards Bonneville Dam and were able to buy tickets inside the Cascade Locks Grill shortly before the cruise which worked perfectly for us since we were doing a lot of sightseeing and weren't sure what time we would arrive. The gorge scenery was beautiful, and we even saw a sea lion near the dam. There were strong breezes which felt great since it was 90 degrees in Portland that day. The crew was friendly and helpful. We were able to purchase beverages and chips on board. We enjoyed the cruise and would do it again if we return to the area.
A wonderful river experience with Captain Tom at the helm, his historical narration is rich but easy to follow and enjoy. He and his officers showed exceptional kindness and patience with my grandson. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Endless gorgeous scenery, amazing history and geology here. The Sternwheeler is clean, comfortable and so interesting to experience first hand. Plenty of seats inside and out. Snacks and hot dogs for the 2 hour trip just right with a 6yo in tow. Great fun watching the board surfers follow our wake, one young woman was really incredible! Best day of the summer, my grandson will remember this forever.
Seeing the river from above in the photos and then gliding on it below aboard the Sternwheeler was amazing.
Was a great dinner cruise. My son got to meet Cpt. Tom and got to steer the boat for a few minutes. The tenderloin was the best beef I'd had in forever. Melted in my mouth. Not to mention the views and the history of the Gorge we got from Cpt. Tom.
Food was great, views were amazing and the tour part of it was interesting. We went with my work as a team building exercise and it was worth it!!! My hole office of 20 something people loved it. Will recommend
Great restful experience. Shut your cell phone off, just breathe and be grateful you are alive one more day to enjoy life. Book your room if you want to stay overnight next door at Best Western Plus. Great community.
Dinner was pretty good but the cruise was underwhelming. Could have been more commentary. Not sure of the value received for what was paid. I hate it when you believe you have paid for something and then they play the gratuity card on you.
Pattle wheel boat ride was good
The boat was fantastic with beautiful scenery. I was disappointed with the food and our server. We did this to celebrate our wedding anniversary but... I guess, celebration package is not worth it. We still had a great night.
The food was much better than I expected with a choice of entrees. Our server, Chelsea, was friendly and helpful. Captain provided a nice commentary. Weather was remarkable and the 2-hour cruise slow and interesting. Note that you will be hit up for extras: pictures, drinks, dessert, etc. We went with a family group and all enjoyed.
The ride was very smooth and the food was great. The staff helpful and the captain was very informative. The trip had it's ups and downs "locks". We had a good time. Thanks.
Excellent cruise through the Columbia Gorge. Must visit the place if you have one extra day in Portland.
This riverboat trip was for Keith and Max's Birthday. We had a wonderful time. The food was very good and the server Amrita she was fabulous. I will do it again soon.
We did the Sunday brunch cruise. The leaves were starting to turn, the Captain was very informative and we got to drive the boat! Great for a family/group outing.
We took the 1 hour cruise down to Bonneville dam it was a very nice trip, learned a bit about Native American fishing along the river.
Fun experience which allowed our motor coach group to enjoy the river and the locks. Thanks for hosting us!
Food was delicious, wait staff and crew were very friendly and accommodating.
Had a great time celebrating a relative's 80th birthday. The breakfast buffet was real good. The weather was not sunny, but honestly, it didn't matter. It was a lot of fun to see the Columbia River from the ship. The Captain gave good sight seeing info and the Columbia River Gorge is one of the best reasons for taking the two hour tour. The wait staff was excellent. There was champagne, mimosas and flowing water & coffee. The only negative is the amount of people they have to fit on the ship in order to make their profit/overhead. Way too crowded for the buffet line, but that only lasted until my plate was full. ۥ=
What great time. Beautiful views, great staff and food.
A wonderful day trip.
Loved this trip. Two hours trip for family and kids is optimum choice.
Good food, very limited menu, but delicious. Beautiful views, very informative if you're on the deck but you can't understand the Captain if you're in the dining areas. Overall a great experience.
It was fun. My niece's had the chance to control the boat. The seating area was a bit low on moving space.
Dinner cruise in the gorge with family turned put to a great memory! Food was good, and scenery great! Service was very good!
Wonderful experience. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and efficient. The captain points out various interesting aspects of the cruise, the history, the type of ship, etc. There is light food and drinks on the 2nd level, where you can either go inside at a table or outside and walk along the deck as well, there are three levels. They have vintage photographs and interesting tidbits of information posted around the entire ship, and there's never a chance at boredom, it's truly a lovely, refreshing several hours.
We went for the 4th of July fireworks cruise. Knowledgeable captain shared interesting tidbits about scenery. Fireworks show in Cascade Locks lasted 27 minutes! Great views of private fireworks shows in Stevenson also. Friendly, helpful staff. Money well spent.
The westbound trip was, personally, more interesting. It was near to see the river and surrounding areas from a different perspective.
What a nice clear August evening on the Sternwheeler. It was perfect weather on the Columbia with a faint cool breeze. My friend and I enjoyed the dinner cruise 🚢 along with People of all ages and backgrounds ... a pleasant time had by all.
So much fun! And it's a beautiful drive to Cascade Lockes to get there.
